How the activity unfolds

  1. Welcome in San Gil

    You will start your adventure in San Gil, where our team will pick you up and drive you to the starting point at Puente Pescadero (about 50 km, 1h15 drive)..

  2. Activity presentation

    Once at the river, your professional guides will introduce the experience: the route, group dynamics, and what to expect during the descent.

  3. Equipment hand-out

    We’ll provide all the necessary safety gear — life jacket, helmet, and paddle. Our staff will make sure everything fits properly for your comfort and security.

  4. Safety briefing & training

    Before getting in the water, you’ll receive clear safety instructions and a short training session on paddling techniques and how to react as a team.

  5. Rafting down the Chicamocha Canyon

    Now the adventure begins! You’ll navigate 15 km of powerful class III–IV+ rapids, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Chicamocha Canyon. Halfway through, we’ll make a short stop to enjoy fresh tropical fruits before continuing through the most exciting rapids.

  6. Arrival in Jordán

    The descent ends near the historic village of Jordán. Here, you’ll enjoy a traditional Santander lunch in a local restaurant and have some free time to explore this picturesque town.

  7. Return to San Gil

    After the visit, we’ll drive you back to San Gil (about 1h) where your rafting experience concludes — with memories of a truly unforgettable adventure.

Is rafting safe for kids?

Yes! Children from 14 years old can join the descent, always under the supervision of professional and certified guides.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes — basic swimming skills are required, since the river has strong class III–IV+ currents.

Is the activity cancelled in case of rain?

No! Rafting is a water activity and continues even in the rain. We only cancel in cases of extreme weather or unsafe river conditions.

Where is the starting base?
